How to interpret my PleximmuneTM test result?
The immunoreactivity index: This number is effectively a rejection-risk score. The immunoreactivity index measures anti-donor activity among lymphocytes from a particular recipient, relative to activity against non-donor human cells. Therefore, this index is reported as a number
Interpretation:
- The immunoreactivity index is compared with a rejection-risk threshold developed from testing of transplant recipients. An index below the threshold implies decreased risk of rejection, An index greater that the threshold implies increased risk of rejection. Thresholds differ for samples collected before transplantation, or after transplantation, and are explicitly stated in the report.
- PleximmuneTM test results, along with other clinical information can help your healthcare provider assess whether the risk of rejection is increased or decreased, so that clinical decisions can be made with more information.
